About the Somerset Energy Investment Plan
The Council has developed a Somerset Energy Investment Plan. This plan sets out the current evidence on the energy system in Somerset and analyses the local resources to inform a potential Net Zero pathway.
To achieve the decarbonisation of energy to meet net zero, Somerset will need support through collaboration and external investment to deliver decarbonisation solutions. This report helps identify areas across Somerset that are potentially suitable for renewable energy generation. Areas such as solar and wind, the requirement for electrification of transport, the need to improve energy efficiency through retrofit, and recommended projects to take forward, collaborate and facilitate.
