Climate action plans
A key initiative in the Department for Education (DfE) sustainability and climate change strategy is the use of climate action plans and the appointment of sustainability leads in all education settings.
Climate action plans give schools, colleges and other education settings a framework to identify priorities, set objectives and deliver actions. These actions reduce environmental impacts and support climate and sustainability education.
By appointing a sustainability lead and implementing a climate action plan, education settings can embed sustainability in daily operations. They can engage staff and learners and contribute to a more sustainable future.
