Under Section 123 Subsection 2A of the 1972 Local Government Act Somerset Council now invites members of the public who wish to comment or object to the proposal to do so in writing stating the reasons for their objection and send by post or email to:

The closing date for objections is 5pm Friday 16 February 2024.

Taunton

Local Government Act 1972 Section 123 (1), (2A) Notice 

Notice is hereby given that Somerset Council intends to dispose of the Freehold interest in Bishops Hull Playing Field, Taunton to the Bishops Hull Playing Field Trust.

The land coloured red was owned by former Somerset County Council and land coloured blue was owned by former Somerset West and Taunton. The red hatched area is the part of the school landholding (outside the fence line) to be transferred to the Trust, who currently occupy and manage the land under a 99-year licence. The transfer will reserve a right for the school to use (as now) on an occasional basis. The land coloured blue is also occupied and managed by the Trust, under a 99-year lease.

Representations in respect of the intended disposal must be made in writing and addressed to Property Governance, Strategic Asset Management, Somerset Council, County Hall, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 4DY or emailed to propertygovernance@somerset.gov.uk by no later than 5pm on Thursday 22 February 2024.
