About the event

This workshop is designed for those who have already attended our introductory ebsa session and wish to develop a deeper understanding of entrenched ebsa, including severe anxiety-related non-attendance.

Together, we will explore why attendance difficulties can become prolonged, acknowledge the significant impact on children, young people, and the whole family, and consider practical, evidence-informed ways to support your child through this challenging period towards a more hopeful future.

In this workshop, we will explore:
What entrenched ebsa looks like
The impact on family life, wellbeing, and education
The added complexity of additional needs and neurodivergence
Research-informed approaches to support
Understanding anxiety and the cycle of avoidance
Practical ideas to use at home
Parent wellbeing, self-care, and peer support

Suitable for parent carers of children and young people experiencing persistent or severe anxiety-related school attendance difficulties.
