About the event
This session will give parents the clarity and tools to become informed advocates and valued partners in their child’s educational journey.
With a focus on positivity, collaboration, and practical steps, you will gain confidence to navigate Special Educational Needs (SEN) discussions, strengthening your relationship with the school.
What you will explore:
- What SEN means and looks like including breakdown of the graduated response to SEN.
- Understanding school roles – who to approach and when.
- Reasonable adjustments that make a difference – and how to request them.
- How to organise your thinking around SEN so that you bring focussed and clear information to a discussion.
- Key questions to ask in SEN discussions to spark conversations and actions that support your child or young person.
- What you should expect from a meeting – and how to follow up effectively.
