About the event
Does your child or young person struggle with organisation, time management, getting started on tasks, managing emotions, or remembering everyday information?
Executive functioning is often described as the brain’s management system. These essential skills help us plan, organise, focus attention, regulate emotions, manage time, solve problems, and complete everyday tasks. For many autistic and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder individuals, differences in executive functioning can create significant challenges.
This workshop explores executive functioning differences and why these can affect daily life. It examines organisation, time management, working memory, and emotional regulation, alongside the impact of sensory load and anxiety.
In this workshop, we will:
Understand what executive functioning and the executive functioning skills are.
Recognise common executive functioning difficulties.
Understand than common support strategies can work across a range of processing difficulties.
Apply strategies to education, work, and daily living needs.
Apply practical executive functioning support strategies.
