About the event

This workshop is designed for those who have already attended our introductory ebsa session and wish to develop a deeper understanding of entrenched ebsa, including severe anxiety-related non-attendance.

Together, we will explore why attendance difficulties can become prolonged, acknowledge the significant impact on children, young people and the whole family and consider practical, evidence-informed ways to support your child, through this challenging period, towards a more hopeful future.

In this workshop, we will explore:
What entrenched ebsa looks like.
The impact on family life, wellbeing, and education.
The added complexity of additional needs and neurodivergence.
Research-informed approaches to support.
Understanding anxiety and the cycle of avoidance.
Practical ideas to use at home.
Parent wellbeing, self-care, and peer support.

Suitable for parent carers of children and young people experiencing persistent or severe anxiety-related school attendance difficulties.
