About the event
Feeling worried or anxious is a normal part of life. Children and young people can feel anxious for many different reasons. Sometimes, anxiety can become a bigger problem and start to affect everyday life, such as school, friendships, family life, sleep, or trying new things.
For neurodivergent children and young people, including those who are Autistic, have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or other neurodivergent differences, anxiety may be experienced and expressed in different ways.
In this workshop, we will explore:
What anxiety is and why it happens.
Common signs that a child or young person may be feeling anxious.
How neurodivergence can affect the way anxiety is experienced.
When anxiety may need extra support and where to go for help.
Practical ways to help children feel calmer, more confident, and better able to cope.
By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of anxiety and feel more confident supporting your child when they are worried or overwhelmed.
