About the event

Hypermobility conditions such as Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (hsd) are often misunderstood, under-recognised, and difficult to diagnose. For many neurodivergent children and young people, particularly those who are autistic or have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, hypermobility can have a significant impact on physical health, emotional wellbeing, learning and day-to-day life.

Far more than increased flexibility, hypermobility can affect the body’s connective tissues, leading to challenges with pain, fatigue, balance, proprioception, coordination, sensory processing and emotional regulation. Understanding these connections can be life-changing for families who have struggled to make sense of their child’s experiences.

Join us for this evidence-informed workshop, where we will explore the relationship between hypermobility, autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, helping you better understand the challenges faced by many neurodivergent children and young people.

By the end of the workshop, you will:
Have a clearer understanding of hEDS, hsd and hypermobility-related challenges.
