About the event

Are you finding it difficult to work out what parenting approach works best for your child? Have you ever been told that you need to be firmer or stricter, only to find that this doesn’t seem to help?

For some children and young people, everyday demands can be challenging, and approaches that work for other families may not feel effective. This workshop explores how parenting styles and language can be adapted when demands become a source of stress, conflict, or anxiety.

The session provides a supportive space for parents and carers to reflect on their own experiences, explore different approaches, and consider practical ways to scaffold daily life. There will also be opportunities to discuss individual circumstances and share ideas with others who understand the challenges of parenting a neurodivergent child.

By the end of the session, you will have a greater understanding of low demand approaches and leave with practical tools and ideas to try at home.
