About the event

Does your child or young person experience emotional overwhelm, meltdowns, explosive reactions, or periods of crisis that can feel difficult to predict or manage?

When emotions become too intense, children can move beyond their ability to think, communicate, and regulate effectively. Understanding what happens in these moments can help parents respond with confidence, reduce distress, and support recovery.

This workshop explores emotional regulation, the arousal curve, and the factors that can lead children into the “Red Zone.” Using neuro-affirming approaches.

In this workshop, we will explore:
How to recognise early warning signs that your child may be becoming overwhelmed.
Practical crisis prevention techniques that reduce stress and support regulation.
What to do during a meltdown, shutdown, or emotional crisis.
How to support recovery and re-regulation after an incident.
