Wise Workshop: Meltdowns & Shutdowns

About the event

Does family life sometimes feel like you are walking on eggshells, never quite knowing what might trigger a meltdown? Are there times when your child seems to shut down and you struggle to know how to help?

This workshop is for parent carers of neurodivergent children and young people, whether they have a formal diagnosis or not. It aims to increase understanding of meltdowns and shutdowns, helping families explore the impact that stress and overwhelm can have on children, young people, and those who support them.

The session will provide opportunities for reflection, discussion, and practical ideas that can be used at home.

By the end of the session, you will have a greater understanding of your own and your child’s responses to stress and leave with tools and strategies to support your family.
