About the event

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is much more than being distracted or hyperactive. It is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects attention, emotions, organisation, impulse control, and many aspects of everyday life.

This workshop will help you better understand Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and related conditions, exploring how they can affect learning, behaviour, communication, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. We will also share practical strategies to help children and young people thrive at home, in school, and in their wider lives.

Together, we will look at:
The core characteristics of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and how they may present in different children and young people.
Executive functioning and its impact on organisation, planning, memory, and self-regulation.
The links between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, emotions, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Related conditions, including Oppositional Defiant Disorder (odd).
How Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can affect communication, friendships, and daily life.
Practical strategies to support children and young people and make everyday situations more manageable.
