About the event
Does your child communicate differently from their peers, use few or no spoken words, or find it difficult to understand and express their thoughts, needs, and feelings?
Communication is about much more than talking. It includes understanding language, expressing needs and choices, using gestures, facial expressions, symbols, signs and other ways of connecting with the people around us.
Neurodivergent children, including non-speaking and pre-verbal children, often develop communication skills differently and recognising these differences is key to providing meaningful support.
This workshop explores how communication develops and the different ways neurodivergent children communicate, Whether your child uses speech, alternative communication methods or is still developing their communication skills, you’ll gain practical insights and tools to build understanding, connection, and confidence.
