About the event

Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental difference that affects how a person experiences, understands, and interacts with the world around them. Every autistic person is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, preferences and ways of thinking, communicating, and processing information.

This informative and neurodiversity-affirming workshop explores our modern understanding of autism, moving beyond stereotypes to develop a deeper appreciation of the autistic experience. We will examine the three key areas of difference commonly associated with autism: communication, sensory processing and the need for predictability, routine, and familiarity.

We’ll explore:
The three key areas of difference in autism: communication, sensory processing and the need for predictability, routine, and familiarity.
Why autism presents differently in different individuals.
How to adapt support approaches across a range of environments and life stages.
