Combe Sydenham Country Park and Forest

A working forestry estate of around 1,500 acres of conifer and hardwood plantings of meadows, glades, a deer park and quarries (not in use).

Beautiful site also features numerous streams, lakes, waterways and waterfalls all with good access on frequently used forest access tracks and higher ground offers stunning views of Wales and the Severn Estuary.

There is also a working sawmill and other structures within the forested area include an old tree nursery which has grown into a mature park land of ornamental trees. Over the years there have been Native woodlands planted, as well as 80 year old Douglas Fir, Spruce plantations, Eucalyptus plantations. In addition, there are Roman Forts or hilltop signalling posts against the Spanish armada, 19th Century Goodley Hamlet, a small fishing lodge, old 1890 mineral line and old railway bridges, wrought iron Deer Park and modern Fallow Deer Park, as well as an Elizabethan Manor House and water-powered corn mill (separate listings).

There are ten large sites spread a long the Brendon hills each with their own private car parks/forest loading bays for articulated lorries.

The Estate has ancient woodlands, oaks form the 1600 and modern conifer plantations.

The steep valleys create unique landscapes that vary around every corner.
