Purposes for processing

To take part in and track individuals’ progress in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Categories of personal data

Basic personal data (name, age, gender, school, library borrower number, postcode) plus specific information relating to the challenge (for example, number of books read).

Legal basis for processing

Article 6(1)(a) Consent: the data subject has given consent to the processing for the purpose described above
Article 6(1)(f) Legitimate Interests: we will also use your data for the purposes of monitoring quality, audit and for dealing with any enquiries or complaints.

Data Sharing

The personal data provided will be shared with Somerset Libraries and Somerset Council. We will also share anonymised data with the Reading Agency.

Transfers abroad

Your data will not be transferred abroad.

Data Retention

This data will be retained for a period of four months to meet participation requirements.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask Somerset Council for a copy of your data, the right to rectify or erase your personal data, and the right to object to processing. However, these rights are only applicable if the Council has no other legal obligation concerning that data.
