Help towards the cost of improving energy efficiency in your home

Retrofitting

Other information

Retrofitting

Retrofitting covers a variety of energy efficient works on domestic properties including external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, floor insulation, air source heat pumps, solar panels and double glazing.

Improved energy efficiency will reduce energy usage, heat loss, carbon footprint, save money, protect the fabric of your home, improve living conditions and provide greater energy security in the long term. The first step should be to improve the fabric of the building through measures such as insulation with improved ventilation – a home that leaks heat through draughts or poor insulation wastes energy, renewable or otherwise, and risks oversizing of heating systems. This is generally more effective than installing newer technologies such as heat pumps and will make a larger impact on the overall efficiency of a building.

We work in partnership with Somerset Independence Plus to provide grants to help towards the cost of improving energy efficiency in your home. You can find more information about Government grants and Local Authority grants on their website. Somerset Independence Plus – Retrofit

If you are not eligible for a grant, you may be able to apply for a low interest loan offered through Lendology CIC.
