  • Somerset Lifeline provides a 24/7 community alarm service, helping vulnerable people to maintain independence and providing peace of mind for family, knowing that our highly trained staff are always on hand, at the touch of a button.
  • This is a busy and rewarding role, installing Telecare alarm equipment in our customers homes.
  • It’s a full-time position (37 hrs) based in Taunton; however, you will be expected to travel across the County of Somerset, visiting customers in their homes.
  • Annual leave: 28 days.
  • This is a permanent position.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of vulnerable people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Visiting customers in their homes to install Telecare alarm units and other technology enabled care devices, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrating equipment, providing training and support to customers and/or members of their support network in the use of the equipment.
  • Liaising with family members, carers, health, and social care professionals to ensure the Somerset Lifeline service provides the right level of support for customers to live as independently as possible within their homes. 

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • Excellent customer service skills including listening, empathy, understanding and kindness.
  • Ability to travel to customers’ homes, across the County.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, confidence to learn new systems and use multiple technologies.
  • Enthusiasm to learn about our services, a positive and calm way of working and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Professionalism to adhere to process and understand the confidential and sometimes difficult nature of interactions we handle.
  • Experience is not essential; however, it will be useful and if you do have experience of any of our services on a personal or professional basis then please make this clear in your application.
