  • 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 after five years continuous service
  • 37 hours per week to cover the period 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

What will I be doing?

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a prestige economic development project having a positive impact on the economy and the lives of people in Somerset. 

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Being a key part of small team running an exciting, new £11m innovation centre for the growing digital and data sector in Somerset.
  • Providing a Reception and general administrative support function at the Centre and supporting its smooth-running. 
  • Greeting and directing users and tenants of the Centre.
  • Handling conference and meeting room booking enquiries.
  • Issuing invoices to customers and preparing orders for goods and services as required.
  • Logging and reporting maintenance/building issues with the Council’s Facilities Management Team
  • Preparing the Centre for meetings and events (which may include setting up furniture and audio-visual equipment)

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Have experience of performing administrative and clerical duties to a high standard in a customer-facing environment. 
  • Have excellent IT skills, able to confidently use Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Can build strong relationships with staff, tenants and users of the Centre. 
  • Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Are a good team player, able to adapt to changing priorities and willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to provide a friendly and professional service.
