What will I be doing?

Somerset Road Safety are looking for a committed, experienced individual to deliver key road safety outcomes to the residents of Somerset.

Our delivery team has a unique role in providing face-to-face information and advice to the residents of Somerset. This is done by delivering road safety talks to all age groups and attending events to raise awareness. Part of your role will require presenting at these events and to all age groups, and the ability to deliver key road safety messages.

This role is integral towards pursuing the Council’s aim of reducing road casualty figures on Somerset roads. You will need to be able to interpret and deliver changes in road safety legislation that may impact residents of Somerset.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Designing methods of evaluation for road safety interventions.
  • Preparing road safety reports and providing expert professional advice to members, officers and the community.
  • Contributing to the delivery and implementation of the Council’s Road Safety Strategy, including delivering on targets for road safety.

This role will require the postholder to be able to drive. There will also be some weekend and evening work required.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • Ability to drive is essential for this role.
  • Relevant experience, understanding and knowledge of road safety.
  • Ability to work within a team or using own initiative.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as required.
