Some key information

  • This is a new permanent role within Somerset Lifeline providing leadership and support to the Installation and Response teams.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with another Installation and Response Lead sharing responsibility for managing the team, co-ordinating the installation of new Lifelines across the County, the deployment of our Response Service, reviewing, and developing the processes we use and finding improvements in how we work.
  • The team install Telecare devices in our customer’s homes across Somerset and the Lead will take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of this service and of the Emergency Response service as it grows to cover all of Somerset.  We provide emergency 24/7 support to vulnerable customers and it is important to note that while the core hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, the role includes participation in a duty manager on call phone service.  
  • 30 days annual leave.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of vulnerable residents here in Somerset and across the country.  Our aim is to enable our customers to continue to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Managing members of the Lifeline Installation and Emergency Response teams who support vulnerable customers, often in emergency situations.
  • Development and delivery of the installation and response services across the country.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Have some experience of managing and developing teams and delivering customer-led services to multi-channel customers across multiple locations.
  • Understanding Telecare technologies and how they can be used to support vulnerable customers in their own homes.
  • Have a driven and motivated attitude towards delivering the best service possible.
