  • 28 days’ annual leave.

What will I be doing?

You will be scoping, managing and coordinating a caseload of our property change projects, in a greatly varied role with lots of unique opportunities.

We want you to use your knowledge of property regulations and policy, alongside your project management skills, to dive into a portfolio of work which will help guide the Council towards achieving its key objectives in terms of rationalising its operational estate. Your role in exploring opportunities and coordinating these projects will allow you to demonstrate your skills and become a key part of this service.

No two days will be the same in this role and you will be able to get involved in lots of different projects, including:

  • Complex rationalisation projects e.g. remodelling and refurbishment.
  • Complex accommodation moves.
  • Vacating sites for transfer or disposal
  • Developing and implementing joint projects with other public bodies.

Of course, this isn’t everything. You might be surprised at the scope of the Asset Rationalisation team, and at just how many different opportunities you will have to showcase your skills and make a difference.

There are also lots of different people you will be able to collaborate with, both internally and externally. You will be working with service occupants, partners and clients, and Council Members. You will be key to addressing and meeting all of their unique needs.

You will need to be able to travel across Somerset as regular visiting of our sites will be a requirement for this role.

If you are an ambitious individual who is looking to step into a challenging yet rewarding role, and if you think you have the knowledge and skills required for this job, then we’d love to hear from you!

  • Previous experience and working knowledge of property, ideally in a Local Government context.
  • Evidence of working with, influencing and advising stakeholders, partners and clients.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data and complex information.
  • A-Levels are the minimum requirement for this role. A degree or project management related qualification would be desirable but not essential.
