  • This role provides the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to work either from home, subject to managerial approval, or from the office base at County Hall, Taunton
  • The contract offered is permanent and part-time (14.8 hours per week)
  • 28 days annual leave per annum calculated on a pro-rata basis
  • Salary is £11,439 -£12,824 per annum for 14.8 hours per week.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues associated with the property asset management system, escalating to the supplier when necessary
  • Designing, owning, maintaining and developing data collection, cleansing and quality assurance systems and processes in collaboration with Property service leads. Providing training and refresher sessions to operational staff on following these processes
  • Co-ordinating and developing the department’s performance management framework; working with departmental leaders to measure, monitor and report on performance
  • Managing and developing the council’s property asset management system – ensuring that the system supports efficient business processes that improve productivity, deliver required outputs across the department, and comply with statutory and regulatory frameworks
  • Identifying, and suggesting, ways to improve processes and systems or ways of working within the wider Property department. Supporting colleagues with implementing these improvements.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:

  • Experience of performance reporting or key performance indicators.
  • Regular advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Power Queries and Power BI for analytical purposes, preparation and presentation of data.
  • Experience of working with, and influencing, stakeholders
  • Used complex data models and systems involving many advanced data transformation and manipulation steps, e.g. merge, append, update, cross-tab, combine and custom queries, and a multitude of inter-related data and reference tables
  • Experience of working with relational databases data matching, data modelling and large datasets.
