What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people here in Somerset and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Perform maintenance and upgrades to Hypervisors across Somerset Council Datacentres
  • Carry out maintenance checks as required
  • Support and over time configure our Cloud platform (Microsoft Azure)
  • Dealing with day-to-day tickets within our ITSM (HALO).
  • Support Senior/Lead Engineer on projects required by hosting.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you

  • Have knowledge of key Hosting principals including
    • Azure Cloud, Azure Local, VMware management.
  • Have knowledge in SCOM or similar monitoring tools.
  • Can deal with changing and competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
