  • Permanent, full time position.
  • 37 hours per week, working 8:00 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday, 8:00 - 15:30 on a Friday.
  • You will be based at West Park Depot, Chelston Business Park, Wellington.
  • 28 days’ annual leave, not including bank holidays.
  • There are Progression/development opportunities with this role.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Working with tenants in occupied properties.
  • Attending to appointment agreed with tenants in line with agreed timescales.
  • Working with the trade Planning team co-ordinating the daily activity.
  • Working with other trade teams delivering joint solutions.
  • Safety is a major priority of the Council, experience using access equipment is essential.
  • Emergency repairs form part of the daily activity.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:

  • Level 2 NVQ in Roofing or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Maintenance & Repairs.
  • Technical skills & knowledge.
  • Critical thinking Problem solving.
  • Planning & organising materials.
  • Attention to detail, precise working.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
