What will I be doing?

You will lead a team of support staff, championing service improvement, statutory compliance, and high performance. The role involves managing key ICT systems (such as Civica APP and Assure NEC), overseeing statutory returns, and supporting the service’s transformation in line with corporate priorities and legislative requirements. You will also be responsible for budget management, performance analytics, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Environmental Health Support team, ensuring delivery of service improvement, digital transformation, and compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Drive business development and service improvement initiatives across Environmental Protection, Enviro-Crime, Food & Safety, Private Sector Housing, and Licensing.
  • Manage statutory returns, performance dashboards, and reporting tools to support strategic planning and operational delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and software providers.
  • Support staff through change, providing training, guidance, and technical expertise.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:

  • A proven track record in business development, service improvement, or project management.
  • Experience in managing statutory returns, performance frameworks, and leading teams in high-pressure environments.
  • The ability to work strategically and translate vision into operational delivery.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
