Some key information
- This is a hybrid role with a requirement to attend County Hall at least one day a week for team collaboration.
- Assume a senior role within a small team, contributing to a broader matrix structure across the organization, focusing on M365 services and applications. This is achieved through a mixture of day-to-day support and project work.
- Entitled to 30 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays.
- This is full-time, permanent role, at 37 hours per week.
- Salary is £37,280 - £41,771 per annum for 37 hours/week.
What will I be doing?
We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of people in Somerset by supporting the council's staff in their use of ICT services and applications. You will play a crucial role in this mission. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Manage, Configure and support various Microsoft 365 Services, specifically with, but not limited to, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms and Lists. This is completed through the council’s ITSM tool, Halo, and Azure DevOps for platform development, and proactive management.
- Regularly monitor system performance and health metrics.
- Collaborate with the M365 Technical Lead, Subject Matter Experts, and wider team to contribute towards the creation and management of the councils Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence.
- Provide continuous improvement through the use of Automation and AI.
- Create and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

- Proven’ experience supporting the following core M365 Apps and Services: Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms and Lists.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Able to proactively demonstrate flexibility in response to changing priorities and workloads.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise tasks and self-manage time to meet deadlines.
