  • The primary work location is Shepton Mallet Office on Tuesday and Thursday, working from home on a Friday.
  • 22.5 Hours a week – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • 25 Days Annual Leave, not including bank holidays.
  • Salary is £15,011 - £15,247 per annum for 22.5 hours/week

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of young people in Somerset- and you’ll be a key part of that. The Children’s Social Care Central Payments Team supports colleagues across the county in their work, safeguarding children and young people. We are a busy team, making a valuable contribution to the work of the Service.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Using a specialist database – Microsoft D365 to set up and amend payments to Foster Carers, Adopters, Special Guardians and Care Leavers.
  • Banking, Cash Handling and reconciling petty cash.
  • Taking calls and receiving emails from colleagues, carers, and members of the public.

 

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Are educated to GCSE standard, Grade 9/C in English Language and Maths.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, using appropriate techniques to ensure effective interaction with colleagues at all levels.
  • Understand working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, MS Teams and Sharepoint.
