We’re looking for a passionate, energetic individual who can help continue Somerset’s proud history of innovation in waste services and drive forward our ambitious plans for the future.
It’s an exciting time to join us in a role where you’ll make a real, visible difference to our customers, our communities and the environment.
As a Waste Management Officer, you will:

- Advise, support and guide residents, helping them get the most from our waste and recycling services while improving environmental performance, value for money and customer satisfaction.
You’ll be at the sharp end of engaging and exciting people about recycling and waste reduction. This role isn’t just about telling people information, it’s about changing behaviours. Our recycling rate is the highest it has ever been, but we want to go even further.
In return, you’ll join a friendly, supportive team where your ideas matter, and where you can make a big impact and genuinely see the difference your work makes across Somerset.
