  • 25 Days Annual Leave (pro rata for part time hours)
  • Based at Great Wood, Kilve and Charterhouse.
  • Work towards a Level 3 Apprentice Outdoor Instructor. When qualified can apply for fixed term instructor post for following season.
  • Fixed Term for 10 months.
  • 37 Hours a week, annualised over 10 months.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives and experiences of a variety of customers, from school residential groups to Children’s social care, to corporate groups to name a few, here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Supervise, demonstrate and instruct groups in a wide range of outdoor activities.
  • Supporting domestic duties such as preparing rooms and centre for groups arrivals.
  • Supporting risk assessments on activities, locations and environments around activities, to ensure safety for our visitors.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:

  • English and Maths GCSE at grade 4 (c) or equivalent.
  • Some experience working with children, the outdoors or a love of nature.
  • Good communication skills and personal organisation.
  • Approachable, enthusiastic and trustworthy.

The National Minimum Wage will be paid for the duration of the apprenticeship, for those aged 16-17 at £8.00 per hour.

For those aged 18-20, the National Minimum Wage of £10.85 will be paid.

Those aged 21 and over will be paid the National Living Wage at £12.71 per hour
