Some key information

  • A commitment to your CPD through a bespoke learning and development programme
  • Regular, quality, reflective supervision, and learning
  • A supportive management and leadership team

What will I be doing?

This post will involve managing an enthusiastic and skilled Assessment Team, alongside another supportive Team Manager. The team works with families to complete Children and Family Assessments, and at times Child Protection enquiries, following a referral to Children's Social Care, as well as completing a small amount of short term Child in Need support with families. We work to complete timely assessments to identify the right support to meet the needs of the children and families with whom we work. You will manage up to six Social Workers within your team.

You will be someone who promotes excellent practice, who wishes to become an excellent supervisor, and who understands the value of emotionally intelligent practice supervision in social work. You will be passionate about Social Work and supporting others to improve outcomes for children and young people.

You will be joining a permanent management team, where colleagues are committed to a strengths-based and relationship-based approach, where peer support is strong, and communication is done well. You will be part of a wider team where a learning culture is encouraged and supported.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You will be educated to degree level in Social Work, and registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England, with experience in working with children and families within a Local Authority team. An Enhanced DBS will be required for this role. You will be an experienced systemic practitioner with a creative yet pragmatic approach to practice.
