What will I be doing?

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Team Manager in the Mendip Children Looked After Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for either a current Team Manager who is wanting to work in this specialist area of practice, or for an experienced Social Worker who has knowledge and experience of children looked after and can demonstrate the potential to manage a team successfully.

  • As a manager in CLA, you will have the opportunity to support profound changes to a child's life, leading on relationship based practice and promoting permanence. Work in CLA is complex and challenging but extremely rewarding and exciting - we are ambitious for children in our care.
  • You will lead a committed and enthusiastic team of social workers and senior social work assistants and will work alongside another experienced and established team manager.
  • You will join a permanent CLA management team, where colleagues are committed to a strengths-based and relationship-based approach, where peer support is strong, and communication and coworking are good.
  • You will be part of the wider Somerset team where a learning culture is encouraged and supported.
  • You will have the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge through a comprehensive training package includes Systemic Practice and Principles; Motivational Interviewing and Supervisions skills.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You will be educated to degree level in Social Work, and registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England and will have high aspirations.
