What will I be doing?
You will be joining a friendly team which helps to keep Somerset Moving. As a Street Works Technician, you will be working to improve the day-to day lives of our residents and everyone work works in or visits our county – and you’ll be a key part of that.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Providing technical advice on streetworks and support to a wide range of people, including the public, elected members, parish councils, statutory agencies and developers.
- Accessing Streetworks permits and coordinating these requests.
- Conducting site visits and meetings when required.
- Using databases and other ICT applications, including bespoke software.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
Experience in Street Works is not necessary, rather a keenness to learn and develop your knowledge and experience is more important. We offer full training and the opportunity to become Street Works qualified. However, it will really help if you:
- Are customer -focused and confident in dealing with people
- Are ready to deliver and willing to learn new skills.
- Have strong ICT and written skills.
