Some key information
- This role is 30 hours per week. There is flexibility with these hours, depending on the request.
- This contract will be Hybrid working, working from home and the office when required.
- This role offers 25 days of annual leave, excluding the bank holidays when the service is shut. The opportunity to accrue TOIL is available.
- This is a one year contract, ending 12 months after the start date.
(For permanent members of staff, this may be considered as a secondment opportunity, subject to prior discussion and agreement with their relevant Line Manager)
What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Liaise with staff and managers across a range of agencies and forums (including statutory health and care services, our independent care provider market, and the wider voluntary and community sector) to actively source high quality, person-centred care and support for individuals in an efficient manner
- The awarding of contracts across multiple systems
- Supporting providers with increases and decreases to an individuals care package.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:
- have knowledge of the statutory legislations within which care sourcing/brokerage functions operate and a sound understanding of adult social care
- are to be a well organised, efficient ‘people-person’ who enjoys building professional relationships and engaging with a wide range of individuals across partner agencies
- are able to work in a person-centred way, putting clients first as well as advocating for our providers You should be able to communicate and negotiate with confidence, problem solve, motivate and effectively influence others, to obtain the desired service outcome for individuals we support.
- are able to use multiple IT systems and inputting data.
- you will need an English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above.
- you will benefit from having an NVQ Level 2 in Business administration or equivalent.

This is a Grade 14 role with a salary range of £19,787 - £20,418 for 30 hours per week.
