What will I be doing?
You will be someone who promotes excellent practice, who wishes to become an excellent supervisor, and who understands the value of emotionally intelligent practice supervision in social work. You will be passionate about Social Work and supporting others to improve outcomes for children and young people.
This post will involve managing a committed, hard-working and friendly team, alongside another supportive and experienced Team Manager. As a manager in CLA, you will have the opportunity to support profound changes to a child's life, leading on relationship-based practice and promoting permanence. Work in CLA is complex and challenging yet extremely rewarding and exciting.
You would be joining a supportive and experienced management group and will have the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge. You could manage up to eight Social Workers and Senior Social Work Assistants within your team.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
You will be educated to degree level in Social Work, and registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England, with experience in working with children and families within a Local Authority team. An Enhanced DBS will be required for this role. You will be an experienced systemic practitioner with a creative yet pragmatic approach to practice, and have proven staff management and leadership experience.

Anything else I should know?
In Somerset, we have a hybrid working model. Whilst this role can involve some working from home, you will also need to live within travelling distance of the office base at County Hall in Taunton, in order to spend time working alongside the team on a regular basis, and you will need to have access to a vehicle due to the size and rural nature of the area we cover.
