Leadership and Management

As a leader you’ll continually develop our teams keeping them motivated, supported, and focussed on the right activity at the right time to have the greatest impact for the people of Somerset.

We recognise the importance of inspiring and confident leaders and the impact that this has across our organisation.  We offer a culture that promotes peer support and innovation and gives you the opportunity to grow and develop, personally and professionally.  And we can offer qualifications, coaching and flexible working if you want it too.

You’ll be part of discussions with other leaders and directors across the organisation.  Hearing what’s going on, what challenges we face and how you and your team can get involved in unblocking barriers and getting things done.  And you’ll be asked for ideas – from you personally and from your team. You’ll be sharing key messages both with your team and other leaders – leadership is a two way conversation after all. We recognise the importance of working with key partners across Somerset so you may get involved in working with agencies and outside organisations; listening, collaborating and learning for the benefit of all.

We’re looking for leaders who are ready to challenge the status quo and find new ways of collaborating. Who are not only excellent at the technical aspects of the role but brilliant role models and great communicators.
