Community Library Partnerships are run by a community partner in collaboration with us

Get started

Community Library Partnerships are libraries in the Somerset network that are now being managed and run by a community partner such as a charitable trust or Parish/Town Council in collaboration with Somerset Council.

Some of these libraries are solely operated by volunteers recruited from the local community, some are hybrid models that are operated by a combination of volunteers and Somerset Council library staff, and others are fully staffed operations.

Community Libraries offer the same range of library services as those solely operated by Somerset Council. Further development – such as increased events & activities, community engagement and promotion – is a key goal of each partnership.
