Introduction
The Economic Valuation of Library Services (EVOLS) assessment shows how Somerset Libraries support literacy, health and wellbeing, digital inclusion and community connections across Somerset. The assessment report was prepared using the EVOLS toolkit, developed by University of East Anglia in association with Libraries Connected.
The study estimated that library services generated £250.9 million of social and economic value during 2025 to 2026.
