About the scheme

About the scheme

The Thermal Imaging Camera loan Scheme helps identify areas of heat loss to help improve energy efficiency, reduce household bills, and reduce carbon emissions.

The Camera connects to your smartphone or tablet and they are available for Somerset Library members to borrow for a period of three days – they are free to request from your local library.

Homes account for 22% of the UK carbon emissions. And with household energy bills increasing, the Thermal Imaging Camera scheme was introduced in Somerset by Somerset Libraries and the Somerset Climate and Environment teams.

In 2023, the Thermal Imaging Camera scheme received the SWRLS CIO Initiative Award.

For more details on how to borrow a Thermal Imaging Camera please contact your local library or email librariesmail@somerset.gov.uk
