The first meeting of 2023 for the Unstoppables is fast approaching. The meeting will be on Saturday 4 February in Yeovil, and we already have a big agenda – which we’re super excited to start back up, but for now we want to share something exciting that happened over the last fortnight.
Recently, Sian (SEND Engagement and Participation Officer) was invited to be interviewed on BBC Radio Somerset for their wellbeing hour to talk all things ‘Unstoppables’! This was a great chance to explain to the listeners who we are as a forum, what we do and what we aim to achieve. It was also a great opportunity to promote young people having their voice heard and how they can join.

We thought for people who may not know who the Unstoppables are that it would be worth sharing our mission statement:

We want to be unstoppable, not be stopped by the difficulties that we have.

We want to be ambassadors for other young people and share our journeys to help professionals know what has worked for us.

We want to learn and build on our skills to be able to do as much as we can ourselves.

We want to make Somerset as accessible for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as possible.

We want to let other people know it’s about what we can do, and not about what we can’t do.
