As students across Somerset receive their exam results this month, Somerset Council is recognising their achievements and encouraging them to look ahead with confidence to opportunities that come next.
As national A Level, technical and vocational results are released today (Thursday 13 August), and GCSE results due next week (Thursday 20 August), Somerset Council’s Lead Member for Children, Families and Education, Cllr Heather Shearer, said:
Well done to every student receiving results this summer. These results reflect a huge amount of commitment, learning and determination, and I hope you are able to take a moment to recognise everything you have achieved.
Results day can bring many different emotions, but it’s also a chance to think about the future and the many paths available. Whether you are continuing in education, starting an apprenticeship, moving into training or employment, or still considering your next steps, there’s support available and plenty to look forward to.
Cllr Shearer added:
Thank you also to the families, carers, teachers, and school staff who have supported young people throughout their studies. We are proud of Somerset’s students and wish them every success for the years ahead.
