Local residents across Somerset are being urged to have their say as time is running out to take part in a major health and wellbeing survey.
With the deadline fast approaching on Monday 27 April, Somerset Council’s Public Health team is encouraging anyone who has not yet responded to complete the Somerset Health and Wellbeing Survey and help shape future priorities across the county.
The survey, which launched in March, gives local residents the opportunity to highlight what matters most to them, ensuring services focus on the issues that have the greatest impact on local communities. Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Love2Shop voucher.
Councillor Graham Oakes, Lead Member for Public Health, Climate Change and Environment, said:
“This is the last chance for local residents to make their voices heard and help shape the future of health and wellbeing in Somerset.
“We know that local insight makes a real difference. Every response helps us better understand the challenges people face and where support is needed most.“If you haven’t taken part yet, I would strongly encourage you to spare a few minutes to complete the survey before it closes.”
Created and reviewed by people who grew up, live or work in Somerset, the survey is rooted in local experience. The feedback gathered will ensure that the voices of residents continue to guide services and highlight the barriers people face in staying healthy.
Previous surveys have directly influenced how services are designed and delivered. For example, responses have helped target smoking cessation support and healthy eating initiatives where they are needed most, as well as highlighting differences from national trends.
The current survey covers a range of topics including:
- physical activity
- mental health and wellbeing
- smoking and vaping
- alcohol and substance us
- gambling
- oral health
- NHS Health Checks
- accessing health information
The survey is completely anonymous. Residents are not asked for their name or contact details, and all responses are stored securely in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Each section takes around two minutes to complete, with the full survey taking approximately 15 minutes.
Somerset Council is encouraging as many residents as possible to take part before the closing date and ensure their perspective helps shape future health and wellbeing priorities.
