Somerset’s annual Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND) satisfaction surveys for 2025 are now live.
The surveys have been developed in partnership with Somerset Parent Carer Forum CIC, Somerset Council and NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB).
2 surveys have been created, 1 for parent carers and 1 for practitioners, to gather feedback from both parent carers and practitioners on their experiences of SEND services over the past 12 months. They close on 6 July 2025.
The findings will help identify strengths and areas for improvement across education, health, and care provision in Somerset. The surveys can be accessed below:
- Parent Carer Feedback on Somerset’s 2025 SEND Services
- Practitioner Feedback on Somerset’s 2025 SEND Services
The Parent Carer survey is open to all parent carers of children and young people aged 0 to 25 with SEND. Where families have more than 1 child with additional needs, a separate response may be submitted for each child.
The Professional’s survey is open to professionals working with children and young people aged 0 to 25 with SEND across education, health, and care settings.
Cllr Heather Shearer, Lead Member for Children, Families and Education, said:
I encourage everyone to take part – it’s an important opportunity to share your views and help shape how we work. Your feedback helps us understand what’s working well and where we can improve, so we can continue making positive changes together.
Responses are confidential and handled in line with data protection legislation. A summary of the findings will be shared with Somerset Council and NHS Somerset ICB, with a full report published in September 2025.
Please note: the surveys are anonymous and not suitable for raising individual or safeguarding concerns. Any safeguarding concerns should be reported to Somerset Council on 0300 123 2224.
Each survey takes around 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Paper copies and support are available by contacting 01458 259384 or emailing getinvolved@somersetparentcarerforum.org.uk.
