Somerset Council is asking young people and families to help us keep our information about post-16 education, training and employment up to date.
We have a statutory duty to track what young people are doing after Year 11. This covers young people in National Curriculum Years 12 and 13, as well as those aged up to 25 who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.
Over the coming weeks, our team will contact young people, parents or carers by email, text message, or telephone to confirm whether the young person is currently:
- in education or training
- completing an apprenticeship
- in employment
- not currently in education, employment, or training.
If you are contacted, you will receive a link to a short form where you can update the young person’s current status. You can also use the form to ask for support from our Preparation for Adulthood Team.
The information helps us understand outcomes for young people across Somerset and offer appropriate support and guidance where it is needed.
Please complete the short form when contacted. It should take only a few minutes, and your response will help us make sure young people receive the right support.
