Somerset Council’s contractor SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK is mobilising teams to collect missed recycling from doorsteps on Sunday, 12 April.

The service has faced challenges last week, commencing 7 April after the Bank Holiday, due to staff shortages because of sickness and across Somerset, around 12,000 households have not yet had their recycling collected.

The affected areas include:

  • Frome
  • Glastonbury
  • Milborne Port
  • North Petherton, Bridgwater
  • Radstock
  • Rode
  • Shepton Mallet
  • Street
  • Taunton
  • Wellington
  • Wells

Further areas are expected to be included tomorrow (Saturday).

The disruption to collections took place on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and is expected on Saturday.

All affected residents are advised to please leave their recycling out and this will be collected on Sunday.

Thank you for your patience – we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
