Somerset Parent Carer Forum (SPCF) has launched its new Workshops for Information, Support and Education (WISE) Workshop Programme, offering a range of free workshops for parent carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.

Being a parent carer of a child or young person with additional needs can bring extra situations which are challenging to know how to handle. To help support parent carers navigate these SPCF have created a range of workshops based on the subjects parent carers have told them would be helpful. This year’s offer can be viewed below or you can download a PDF here.

Following feedback from families, the programme has been refreshed and expanded for the coming year. Workshops are designed to provide practical information, support and strategies to help parent carers navigate their SEND journey.

New topics have been added to the programme, including workshops delivered by Catrina Lowri and Alice from Bold Minds, alongside updated sessions from Somerset Parent Carer Forum’s regular presenters.

This year also sees the launch of WISE Plus, a new face-to-face four-week programme designed to provide more in-depth learning, alongside opportunities to connect with other parent carers.

All standard WISE Workshops will continue to be delivered online through Microsoft Teams, making them accessible to families across Somerset.

Whether you are at the start of your SEND journey or looking to build your knowledge and confidence, there is something for everyone in the new programme.
