This month we want to share an exciting new group that a previous member has helped set up!

Hello everyone, my name is Nicole Tucker, and I was a previous Young Person’s Champion from 2017 to 2018 and then from 2021 to 2022. I was also a member of Unstoppables from when it started in 2015 until 2023.

What is Thrive with Cerebral Palsy?

Thrive with Cerebral Palsy is a support group for people with Cerebral Palsy of any age, to come and meet other people with the same condition, share and gain knowledge, and most of all have fun. We also try to get professionals in to help with advice and guidance, but not just by them helping us; we help them. We also try to ask people to come in to do some activities, so we had SASP at our June meeting to play Boccia with us.

Why did you set the group up?

I was meeting up with Ryley around November-December last year, then one day we were saying that there wasn’t any support group for Cerebral Palsy, and then we spent two months planning it. By February, we had a name, logo, poster, venue, and just needed to promote it.

Nicole’s Hopes for Thrive with Cerebral Palsy:

To have a community of people with Cerebral Palsy Get to the bottom of the stigma surrounding Cerebral Palsy Help people to understand Cerebral Palsy

How can you join us?

Well, you can email us at thrivewithcerebralpalsy@gmail.com and turn up.

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at Compass Wellbeing, Belvedere Road, Taunton TA1 1BH from 2 until 4.
