Throughout the week, we will be hearing from a range of practitioners across agencies who will deliver the following sessions (13:00-14:00):
• Monday 17th – Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice – Warren Larkin (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) and Dr Tim Cockerill (Principal Educational Psychologist) will provide an introduction to Trauma Informed practice
• Tuesday 18th – Lads Like Us – lived experience speakers who seek to change the narrative and pioneer a trauma informed approach so boys and men are heard
• Wednesday 19th – Understanding Trauma – Somerset Council Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team and FCAMHS will explore trauma and recovery, and focus in on children’s perspectives on Trauma Informed approaches
• Thursday 20th – Trauma Informed in Practice – Public Health and Minerva School will focus on examples of embedding Trauma Informed approaches into practice
These sessions will also cover:
• Somerset Trauma Informed Network
• Lived experience and hearing the voices of young people
• Understanding how trauma can affect behaviour
• How Trauma Informed Practice can be embedded across the workforce to support children and families.
