Somerset Council’s domestic abuse service, facilitated by the YOU Trust, is proud to support the annual 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence, an international campaign running from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
As part of this campaign, the Council is hosting 2 open-day drop-in events to raise awareness about violence against women and girls, provide support, and create a safe space for those affected by domestic abuse.
A spokesperson for Somerset Council said:
These drop-in events are a vital part of our commitment to raising awareness of gender-based violence and providing support to those in need. We want to create a safe, welcoming environment where people can share their experiences, find support, and connect with others who understand.
By taking part in the 16 Days of Action, we hope to empower individuals and communities to challenge and prevent domestic abuse.
